My view on Adventures of Tintin : The secret of the Unicorn

"I was fully surprised to see a Hollywood movie screened in English in Trichy!!!"

When hearing about Tintin all I remember is that bright coloured comics which was in the size of a tabloid with good paper quality (Our Chandamama and early Tinkle's had pulp prints with colour). I got two of my Tintin comics from one of my neighbour aunt's daughter who returned from Abroad when I was 10 or 12 (But I understood those humorous phrases only when I was 17 or 18)
First thing disappointed me in Maris 70mm is the screen quality. Second, Of course the sound quality and third, it stinks inside the cinema hall(After 15 minutes I got used to the smell). Eventhough the screen quality is bad, Spielberg brought out some magical visuals crafted with great CG. The dialogues are really humorous (I was the only one laughing out there because it is filmed in English) and the action packed adventures pulls us to the edge of the seat. But we can trace Spielberg's hangover from Indiana Jones movies throughout the film.
People started to murmur "Podhum da. Evlo neram pesikittae irupeenga" in between some witty conversations. They would've predicted " Ayyo adhu nammala thaakudhu, OOdunga!" kind of stuffs, I thought. But it is Tintin not Indiana Jones, Tintin is all witty adventure.
The action scene at Baghdad is breath taking. We really feel like catching that eagle when Tintin tries to. Captain Haddock adds humour in between those nail biting sequences. But still one more action sequence is required to make it a blockbuster movie.

My score is a 3.5 out of 5 for 2D Tintin. My friend said its really good in 3D. Hope the conditions of theaters in Trichy will improve in Future.
